Outlook 2003/XP Setup

Configure to use IMAP
Step 1: Tools > E-mail Accounts...
After launching Outlook 2003, select Tools from the program menu and select the E-mail Accounts... option from this menu.

Step 2: Add New E-mail Account
The E-mail Accounts window will open. Select Add a new e-mail account. Press Next.

Step 3: Server Type
Select IMAP for the type of server this account will work with. Press Next.

Step 4: Internet E-mail Settings
Type in the name of the person this account is for in the Your Name field. This name will be displayed on outgoing messages. Type in the E-mail Address for this account.
Type in the name of the Incoming mail server and Outgoing mail server. They should be the same and look like mail.yourdomain.com.
User Name should be a full email address. You may choose to have Outlook remember your password by checking the Remember password box, so that you would not have to enter your password every time you connect. For additional account settings, click on More Settings.

Step 5: More Settings
The More Settings window will open.
Note: If you signed up for e-mail service before April 20, 2005, select the Advanced tab and continue to step 7.
If you signed up for e-mail service after April 20, 2005, select the Outgoing Server tab. Check the box for My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Select the Use same settings as my incoming mail server option.
Select the Advanced tab.
Step 6: Advanced Settings
Type Inbox in the Root folder path field. Return to the E-mail Accounts window by pressing OK. If no further changes need to be made, continue by pressing Next in the E-mail Accounts window.
Step 6: Finish
Finish setting up your new account by pressing Finish.
